Environtec was awarded framework supplier status for ad-hoc project works and single supplier status for the delivery of HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) estate wide management survey programme through Mapeley Estates.

Project: Management Survey Programme

Client: HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC)

Sector: Government

Location: UK

Duration: 4 Years

Project Value: £1.9m

Mapeley Estates Ltd was established in 1999 to provide outsourced management of HMRC estate and after a rigorous tender process in 2009 awarded Environtec single supplier status for the delivery of HMRC estate wide management survey programme.

The remit was to conduct a full asbestos management survey programme to over 600 government buildings and deliver all survey data into client’s Micad Asset Management System.

A strict deadline was applied to the project with delivery required within 18 months.

Due to the high level of security of the buildings, the initial activity for the delivery team was to gain Government based vetting and clearance status.

Delivery of the survey programme was facilitated through a dedicated national team of surveying and supervising staff, led by Senior Project Managers based in London.

All survey data was delivered into the client’s Micad property compliance software by a dedicated Data management administration team.

High level reporting was issued to all stakeholders on completion of the survey programme to enable suitable risk management. This included for identification of high risk materials that were removed. The asbestos removal projects were project managed by Environtec with project completion reports issued to the client and the Micad system updated to reflect the live status of all sites.

A re-inspection programme is now underway to update the Micad system and to ensure compliance with CAR 2012.

“We are very pleased with the overall delivery and management of this project. We know the challenges regarding access and live sampling across our estate but the surveying teams were amicable, diligent and very easy to work with.

The project management was excellent and received plaudits from both our clients and Health and Safety management teams.” Ryan Panchoo, Project Manager
