The client
The Academy Transformation Trust was founded in 2011 and now incorporates 21 primary, secondary, post-16 and FE academies across England. It is responsible for the learning of over 13,500 students and employs some 2,000 people.
The project
Our relationship with the Trust began in 2016, when we were asked to undertake asbestos management surveys at two Nottinghamshire academies: Dukeries Academy in Newark and Sutton Community Academy in Sutton-in-Ashfield.
Key challenges and solutions
After developing a productive relationship with the Trust, we took on a consultancy role. This involved writing the asbestos management plans for all of the Trusts academies across 10 local authority areas. We also carry out the annual re-inspections for each site, as well as planning and scoping for future works. The latter involves undertaking refurbishment and demolition surveys and managing analytical removal works.
