At Environtec, there’s nothing we like more than rolling up our sleeves and getting involved with things going on in our local communities. With offices all over the UK, we get to help with lots of projects, initiatives and charity events. 2022 has been no exception, so we thought we’d put together a round-up of what we’ve been up to. This is by no means an exhaustive list.
Recently, as part of our work alongside West Dunbartonshire Council, Regional Development Manager Stephanie Kerry got the opportunity to work at Food for Thought, a local food bank, for the day. She spent the day stocking shelves, making up parcels for service users, and organising donated toys into categories – an incredible opportunity to learn exactly how vital the work of Food for Thought is in the local community.

Taking part in sports is so important for young people especially, so we were delighted to be able to provide the players of Dumbarton United with much-needed winter jackets so they can keep training while staying warm!
What do you get when you cross a group of bikers, some tinsel, and a van full of toys? A Christmas toy run for children spending their Christmas in Scunthorpe hospital! A festive sight to behold, 47 bikers took part in delivering the presents including senior consultant Sean Hayton, who arranged for Environtec to sponsor the high-vis protective jackets which were much-needed on such a foggy day.
Back in the summer on the 29th of June, three athletic members of the Environtec team took part in this 5K run through Central Park in Chelmsford alongside over 450 others, with the event raising over £25,000.
Grant Litton-Hayes, Liam Beavis, and Scott Holloway performed really well, finishing 16th out of 58 with Liam finishing as the 5th fastest runner overall!
Grant said: “The day was brilliant. Sunny, nice evening, brilliant atmosphere, and everyone looked to be having a great time.”
We were absolutely delighted to be a sponsor at the inaugural HiS Star Awards in 2022. Awards were set up to honour the everyday acts of kindness and community spirit of HiS customers, it was a wonderful evening to be a part of, hearing about fantastic things going on in the local community.

Running from the 14th to the 23rd of October this year, the Bloomsbury festival was a delightful mix of events across the vibrant cultural quarter of Bloomsbury, with businesses, academics, performers and artists joining together to promote arts, science, and culture in a fun, inspirational and engaging way. We were honoured to be supporting the festival as sponsors.
The Men’s Shed Association was originally created as a meeting place for retired men to meet up with others to do a variety of activities from gardening and model making to carpenter and bike mending. Research shows that men’s social networks usually revolve around the workplace and the MSA seeks to combat this.
There are now sheds across the country, and we were delighted to donate personal protective equipment and respiratory protective equipment to the project creating a shed in Great Yeldham.
