Matthew Dennis, Managing Director

Matthew joined Environtec Limited soon after the company was established in 1995 and was initially responsible for conducting both air monitoring and asbestos surveying.

Being able to multi-role within the company led Matthew to being deployed within the emergency response team of consultants that were responsible for mobilising quickly to clients’ needs generally in cases of emergency outside normal working hours – this was in addition to his day-to day duties.

Matthew was responsible for the management of Environtec’s first flagship clients, with whom he was able to forge strong partnerships through effective and efficient project management skills.

Matthew was instrumental in the development of a laboratory in Gibraltar and in 1999 spent three months in the country working with the Government. He was particularly responsible for the delivery of training which encompassed bulk sampling and methodology of air testing.

With a surge of growth within the business, Matthew became the Head of Surveying in 2002 and became responsible for the day-to-day management of the survey team. This included the line management of over 20 trained surveyors, responsibility for mobilisation and resourcing, client liaison, contract management and quality control of all survey reports.

Matthew joined the Board of Directors following a Management Buy Out in 2007 and has since conducted a further Management Buy Out in 2018 where he became the Managing Director and his current responsibility is for the management of all operational activities within the business.

Matthew lives in Chelmsford with his wife and children and is involved in the running of his local football club as well as being a keen golfer.

Dan McGuire, Technical Director

Dan joined Environtec as a trainee analyst in 1998. He soon joined our management team and took responsibility for all of our air monitoring activities. In 2000, he was awarded the Certificate of Competence in Asbestos by the British Occupational Hygiene Society. He quickly gained significant experience in sensitive environments such as hospitals, educational establishments and complex commercial premises.

Dan took responsibility for the day-to-day management of operations in 2006, becoming an Associate Director in January 2010. In this role he was in charge of managing all analytical work and led high-profile and demanding consultancy projects for the Metropolitan Police Service, HMRC and a leading bank.

After a management buy-out in 2018, Dan joined the Board as Technical Director. He lives in Chelmsford with his Wife and two children.

Ricci Price, Finance Director

Ricci qualified as an accountant in 2002 after completing his training with Tenon Group plc, then one of the largest UK accountancy firms. He began working with Environtec in 2003 as an external auditor.

Thanks to Ricci’s clear understanding of our business, we invited him to join as our Financial Controller in 2006, with responsibility for all financial, human resources and information technology matters. He joined the Board of Directors in 2013.

In 2007 and 2018 Ricci facilitated management buy-outs, ensuring that the business was in a financially suitable position and coordinating with external advisors and stakeholders.

Ricci has also overhauled our entire finance system to ensure that robust controls and procedures are in place, providing a stable platform for future growth.

Ricci lives in Great Notley with his wife and 2 children and is a keen footballer and motor sports enthusiast.

Paul Shaw, Commercial Director

Paul joined Environtec as a trainee analyst in 1996, quickly gaining significant experience in all areas of air monitoring and surveying. Soon after he was promoted to project manager and was responsible for developing asbestos removal specifications, managing the procurement process and ensuring that all works on site were completed effectively for clients.

After Environtec was awarded a number of international contracts, Paul spent time in Europe and Asia to manage projects, including complex asbestos abatement works. He also worked extensively in Gibraltar on Ministry of Defence sites, where he was responsible for the management of large and complex asbestos abatement projects.

Paul joined the Board as Technical Director following a management buy-out in 2007. After his second MBO in 2018, Paul became the Commercial Director. He is currently responsible for the company marketing strategy, developing news arms to the business and the project management supply chain, as well as mentoring some of the senior management team. Paul also acts as Contract Director for some of our blue chip clients.

Paul lives in Colchester, has three children and is a lifelong supporter of Leyton Orient Football Club.
